Then & now

Each game as the 2020 version drew it, and as it plays on playallday.games now.

Grid in 2020: a white 6×6 board with a green player, a red square and a yellow flag Grid Run in 2026: the same board as glowing tiles, the player, red squares and a flag
Memory in 2020: a 6×6 board part played, solved pairs turned white, one orange card face up and the rest face down in green Memory Grid in 2026: a board part played, with matched pairs of shapes face up
Zombie in 2020: yellow-lined roads over green grass and a blue player Zombie Grid in 2026: the town at night, with houses, a spawner house, a barricade and the player

Then: a lobby of three

The Grid was a small collection of canvas games on a shared TypeScript engine, with a lobby to pick one. Grid is a 6×6 board: step to the flag and stay off the red squares, in as few moves as you can. Zombie Survival is top-down survival on a road map. Memory is 36 cards to flip and match by colour.

A small Express and socket.io server kept the high scores, three initials each, and the games were live on this site. The scores it held at the end: DJF, 28 moves on Grid; TTT, 10 on Zombie; DJF, 108 points on Memory.

2026

Now: three games of their own

In 2026 the three became games of their own on playallday.games, each with its own leaderboard: Grid Run, Zombie Grid and Memory Grid, joined by one main menu. The rules are the 2020 ones where they can be, so the old games are still recognisable, under a complete face lift: a neon arcade look with a light mode, and touch controls, with a joystick for Zombie Grid.

Zombie Grid grew the most: clear the spawner houses, break the barricade and reach the safe house, then a new town with tougher zombies, with three guns and XP that carries over. Memory Grid's pairs now differ by shape and fill as well as colour, so it plays without telling colours apart. A game in progress waits for you when you pause or leave.

Memory Grid

Flip two tiles at a time and find all 18 matching pairs. Each pair has its own shape and fill. A match earns points, a miss costs them.

Zombie Grid

Walk the streets of a zombie town, shoot down the zombies, their spawner houses and the barricade on the road out, and reach the safe house. Each round is harder, and every level makes you quicker on your feet and on the trigger.
